Let's Get Active!

Join us on annual Walk to School Day

Celebrate Walk to School Day

Wednesday, October 12
8:30 - 9:15 AM
Enjoy some fresh air and morning exercise. Find some family and friends; walk if you can or even ride your bike. Crossing Duties will be available at 8:30 AM.

Meet at the school for a scavenger hunt, chalk drawing, and snacks!
We'll also have a table with art supplies so you can work on your Celebrate Life Poster for the upcoming contest.

We walk no matter the weather...dress accordingly!

Practice Pedestrian Safety

Picture
  • Always look for cars.
  • Choose the safest routes to walk with the fewest and safest streets to cross. Avoid crossing busy or high-speed roads whenever possible.
  • Use sidewalks or paths when possible.
    • If there are no sidewalks or paths, walk as far from the cars as possible and face traffic.
    • Watch for cars turning or pulling out of driveways
  • Cross the street at corners, using traffic signals and crosswalks whenever possible.
    • Look for yourself to see if cars are coming. Look left, right and left and then behind you and in front of you for turning cars.
    • Walk, don't run across the street.
  • Walk with a family member or friend when possible.
  • Put phones, headphones, watches, and other devices down when crossing the street.
